Volunteer Opportunities

Whether your strengths are organization, hospitality, or simply offering a helping hand, there’s a role for everyone:

  • Personal Assistant: Help mothers “shop” for their baby items and carry bags during the event.

  • Interpreter: Translate educational materials and assist with communication throughout the shower.

  • Decoration Crew: Set the scene by decorating the event spaces before guests arrive.

  • Food Services: Prepare and serve meals and refreshments for participants.

  • Babysitting: Provide care for the children of attendees so mothers can fully enjoy the event (fingerprint clearance required).

  • Registration: Welcome guests, check them in, and manage consent forms.

  • Break Down & Clean Up: Assist with closing tasks to ensure a smooth wrap-up after the event.

Luna Rising is proud to support Refugee Baby by Gathering Humanity, an inspiring initiative that uplifts new mothers rebuilding their lives after resettling in the United States. The Refugee Baby Shower program is designed to reduce the emotional and financial burden on these women by providing vital support during their child’s first two years of life.

Through translators, volunteers, and generous community donations, Gathering Humanity offers education, emotional encouragement, and essential baby supplies — ensuring each mother and child have the foundation they need to thrive.

This compassionate outreach provides the tangible basics that every parent deserves: clothing, diapers, books, toys, and other necessities — all delivered with dignity, care, and cultural sensitivity.

Felicia volunteers her time with Gathering Humanity to serve these mothers directly, embodying Luna Rising’s core belief that true beauty begins with compassion and connection.


How You Can Help

Gathering Humanity welcomes donations, volunteers, and community support. Here are a few meaningful ways to get involved:

  • Donate Items: Gently used, clean clothing and like-new toys, books, and gear for children up to age 2 are gratefully accepted. (Please note: used feeding equipment, beds, or car seats cannot be accepted.)
